2 weeks after teaching

February 9th, 2018
Alohaa...it's been two weeks. Day by day I feel better when I am teaching, time flies so fast and I realize I just have two weeks more in the Philippines. Teaching in another country makes me have a lot of experience. Actually, education in Philippines and Indonesia is similar. the strategies keep up with the teacher as a facilitator. The teacher just guides the student to answer the questions, the teacher will stimulate student's brain. Students are required to be more active like answered the question given, ask if don't understand the lesson also explain their idea about the problem. basically, every country has the same vision for education, every country wants to all countries want their people to be smart. But, the difference for the mission. every country has the best procedure to handle their country.

In the Philippines, the junior high school took for four years and senior high school took for two years while in Indonesia took three years for junior high school and also three years for senior high school. If you go to Manila and its environs (Luzon Island) Tagalog, the official language of the Philippines is usually used. However, official English becomes the second language in the country. Thus, almost 90% of universities in the Philippines use English. It's really different from Indonesia, just International School using English for every subject. In regular school study and speaking English just when English subject held.I really want Indonesia to apply English in the second language, I believed if it happens Indonesia will one step ahead.

The curriculum system for elementary upper to secondary school is 10 years for compulsory education. But the program has been changed to K-12 around 2013 (same as Indonesia, 12 years compulsory). Meanwhile, for the lecture curriculum, the Philippines uses a system similar to the United States. For example, for physician education, the prevailing system is not the same as Indonesia but the same as the United States. In the Philippines, you have to complete a Bachelor's Degree first, then take a Bachelor of Medicine again. So, it takes about 8 years to get a doctor's education

For the level of discipline. I think Indonesia is more disciplined because Indonesia has many rules. such as students are required to wear school uniforms every day and should be neat because as I said before so that there is no difference of children from rich families and children from poor families, all are considered equal. then for the matter of timeliness, Indonesia also has rules to not be late. because if it is too late to be sure not to enter the class or must

receive a penalty in advance to be able to enter the class.
